Everything you need to know about luggage allowance

Modified on Tue, 29 Oct at 2:32 PM

Hold luggage is the luggage you 'check in' on arrival at the airport, before you go through security. It’s sent off down the conveyor belt and loaded underneath the plane. You'll then collect it again at your destination airport when you arrive.

The best place to check what hold luggage you have included on your booking, is your paperwork. You can find this under the 'Flight Voucher' and ‘Flight Summary’ section.

If you've purchased hold bags, this will also be displayed in the 'Your Flight' section under 'Added Extras' when you log in to 'My Bookings'.

Remember to check the allowance for both the outbound and inbound flights, especially if you have a split flight where you fly out and back with a different airline as your hold luggage allowance may differ.

Just note: If you've added these bags after your initial booking, this information will be on your most recent booking confirmation.

If any hold baggage has been added directly via your airline, this won't show on your On the Beach paperwork or in My Bookings but it will reflect directly with the airline.

Hand luggage:

Hand luggage can refer to your handbag/backpack or any type of personal item you will be taking on the plane. When this fits under the seat in front of you this is free. If you are looking to take a small suitcase/cabin bag there may be a cost for this depending on the airline.

We recommend checking your airline's website directly to ensure you're up-to-date with the latest restrictions and limits on hand luggage. You can also check the airlines hand luggage allowance on your paperwork with us by going to the ‘Flight Summary’.
